Galatians 2:20 says "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Dying to yourself to live for Jesus is a continuous process. It doesn't just happen in 20 minutes or on a Thursday afternoon. You can't die to yourself on Thursday night at the revival service. You have to continuously make a conscious effort to live for Jesus. Your body is part of the sinful flesh, and it will always want you to turn back to your evil ways. The Holy Spirit that lives within you keeps us from getting involved in sin when we put all of our trust in him.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having nice things, but if they are investing a lot of time and energy into pointless hobbies and expensive cars, then they may not have their priorities in the right place. Galatians 2:20 is clear that when we die to ourselves, many of our hobbies and interests take a backseat to tithing and spending our money on worthy causes.

Dying to yourself also means you will spend some time in ministry outside of Sunday morning services. You may attend church on Wednesday night, or you may go to a small group meeting on Saturday morning. Your time should reflect that you are a Christian who is committed to serving Christ in ministry at other times during the week or month. I am not saying that you need to be at your church every night of the week, but you should make an effort to have some additional involvement in the church body. Galatians 2:20 calls us to live for Christ, so some of our time during the week should be spent in ministry to God.

The fruit of the Spirit is evident in their life.
You can often tell when a person is a Christian. They act different from other people. They don't cuss as much, and they seem to get along with most people. They don't always get along with people who have a different outlook on life, but that is because Christians take a stand for the truth.

Galatians 2:20 is a passage of Scripture that many Christians need to read over and over again. It is the type of verse that can stir up our hearts and make us realize that everything revolves around Jesus. No matter what struggles you are facing in your life, the key is to live for Christ and die to yourself!

Ok so you finally got to bed early one evening. Better yet, you actually got to sleep in too! You're anticipating a nice, restful night and to build some energy for tomorrow. And yet, you wake up Tired. In fact, getting out of bed is just as hard as usual and by the mid afternoon your body is begging you to lay down and catch some shut-eye.

Why does this happen? If you haven't experienced or realized this anomaly, you probably know someone who has. To tell you the truth, this whole aspect of the human sleep cycle is a pain in the butt... but I'm here to tell you that I can shed a little light on why this occurs and (better yet!) what you can do about it. So let's learn about waking up Tired and why it happens.

Sleep cycles: Learn 'em, live 'em, love 'em. You may or may not know this already, but our sleep is made up of 5 distinct sTAGes. Ranging from barely dozing off to R.E.M. (rapid eye moveMent) sleep, the one in which most bodily reparations and energy building occurs, these 5 cycles are ALL necessary in recharging your body.

Now, when humans beings were evolving (or were created, if you prefer), the world was a much more treacherous place. It would be difficult for say, a caveMen, to lie down and be undisturbed for 9 hours at a time, with all of the wild animals and flimsy shelters that characterized early human development. Instead, our bodies evolved to cram these 5 sleep sTAGes in 90 minute cycles. These cycles allow us to rebuild energy in smaller chunks. Think about it, we wouldn't last very long if you couldn't get rest unless you stayed perfectly asleep for an enTire night. In fact, most parents would die within the first year of having a child (what with all the nighttime crying) if this were the case, because they'd never get a solid night to recharge.

Enough of the history lesson... Why does MORE sleep make us feel Tired?

It isn't more sleep per se that makes us tired, but the fact that sleeping for numbers not divisible by 1.5 hours result in "broken" sleep cycles. For example, many people sleep 8 hours per night. At 7 and a half hours of sleep you would have just completed your 5th sleep cycle, but at 8 hours you are in the middle of another cycle. Waking up in the middle of your sleep cycle is a big no-no because your body will be trying to get you to go to sleep and complete that cycle the entire day.

I've caught lots more bigger Fish just after sunset than I have during the full sun of daytime. Walleyes are probably the fish most fished for at night, up north. Probably bass or crappies down south. Fall is, to me, the absolute best time for night fishing walleyes. The water has started to cool quite a bit and the prey fish that walleyes feed on have moved in closer to shore in most fishing lakes. The walleyes know winter is coming and go on a feeding spree before the good fishing lakes freeze over.

For night shore fishing walleyes I used live bait about 99% of the time. Casting was just to much guess work when fishing from shore. Considering I was fishing walleyes it was very rocky and snag filled where I fished. Live bait and lighted bobbers worked very well for night fishing. One of the things that may surprise you the most about shore fishing at night is the fact that you don't have to cast out very far at all. Walleyes see very well in the dark and some nights you can actually see their eyes reflecting light from flashlights.

We made sure to be at the lake every fall starting around Oct. 1st. Never before the first freeze of the year. Anyway, after a few overnight lows below 32 degrees we'd get to the lake just before sundown, get baited up and start fishing. The frogs would be migrating into the lake and when we'd shine the spotlight out about 20-25 feet from shore, the depth was only about 2 feet, you could see the walleyes lined up should to shoulder and facing shore, just waiting for the frogs to come to them. Kinda like the people at at a good buffet line in Vegas.

The walleyes weren't picky about what they bit on. Anything that was alive and wiggled would catch walleyes. We used live minnows around 3-4 inches long and lighted bobbers. Just a simple lighted bobber, a couple of split shot and the hook tied directly to the end of the line. I've also used fluorescent lures at night with a good deal of success. The trick is to keep them glowing and I accomplished that by using the flash from an old 110 camera. It would make those lures really glow. You see, it's not the length of time exposed to light, it's the intensity of the light that makes the lures glow so bright.

One things for sure, there aren't lots of fisherMen fishing at night. Most are daytime fishing people. If you don't like crowds grab your fishing rods and head for the better night fishing spots that you know about. Fishing at night can be a lot of fun and night walleye fishing can be great. You'll probably have a better night catch than you do in the daytime.

You won't be able to homestead successfully if you are driving into town everyday for one thing or another. Embrace hard work

6. Exercising is highly important and you should try and exercise at leastthree times per week to help you stay healthy.

7. Avoid too much exposure to the sun. You can develop skin cancer if you are out in the sun too much, and that will severely alter your plans to living to the age of 100. If you are out in the sun, wear sunblock and spend time in the shade.

We learn our marketing and advertising expertise from many different sources. Usually from book, seminars, and experience. But from Watching early episodes of Saturday Night Live? Absolutely.

Do you remember when Saturday Night Live was really funny? I do. The original cast and writers were brilliant. I confess I haven't seen it in years, so I can't judge the newest version.

Anyway, there was a skit that took place inside a mall. The characters had a Scotch Tapes store. They sold nothing except Scotch Tape...

People would come in their store to buy cassette tapes. Nope. They only had Scotch Tape. The anger of the owner, and the frustration with his lack of sales, made for some good comedy.

What has this got to do with us?

I was in Columbus Ohio, visiting a friend...and I drove by a "Battery Store". They sold nothing but batteries. I think they had every kind of battery imaginable...but that's all they sold.

They are now gone. The enTire chain of ""Battery" stores.

There was a chain of stores that only sold Toner Cartridges. Nothing else. Same story...Gone.

Why? Because it was a flawed idea.

Batteries and toner cartridges are low ticket items. And my definition of "Retail Hell" is to sell something with a low price point...and the customer is not able (no matter how much they want to) to give you more money...for something else.

But, what about shoe stores, car lots, suit stores, and...gasp...vacuum cleaner stores?

Good question. I'm glad that I pretended that you asked it.

Clothing, even shoes is different. Some people shop regularly for suits. Some woMen are legendary for the number of shoes they buy.

Cars have such a high price point, that you only need a customer to buy one every few years to make a good living...even in a small town.

Vacuum cleaners? If you sell the vacuums, you are in the same boat as the battery store.

I own a vacuum cleaner store myself. But we also sell high profit heaters, Air purifiers, and ceiling fans. And we make an average of several hundred Dollars on every vacuum sold.

So the transaction amount has a lot to do with this.

But the question you could ask yourself is "What else does my customer want that I could provide?"

I don't just mean "Well, I sell vacuums...and I service them too...so that's two things...And I sell bags for them...so that's three things"

I'm talking about different categories.

Take the Saturday Night Live Scotch Tape example;

If someone is buying scotch tape, they may also need packing boxes, right?

How about glue? Shipping services? Envelopes? Eventually, you have a Staples.

The more you have available to sell...the more people will buy.

For us, vacuum cleaner sales peak around January. They lag a little in the summer time. We needed something to take up the slack in the Summer months.

Ceiling fans sell more in the Summer...and not at all in the winter. So that's what we sell ceiling fans. What can you learn from this?

Diversity adds stability. Giving you customer more options when they come in your store, or call you, increase the chances that they will buy something from you. Isn't that what we all want?
